Natural Therapies at Codex
Dr. Rolf Grossklaus

Grossklaus, a Director and Professor of the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR), has been the Chairman of the Codex Committee on Nutrition and Foods for Special Dietary Uses (CCNFSDU) since 1998. The CCNFSDU website claims that he “studied medicine and was trained in pathophysiology and nutritional medicine.” It also states that he is “consulted by the [German] federal government as an expert for nutritional medicine.” Grossklaus has told the CCNFSDU that drugs are to mitigate and prevent diseases and that the role of food supplements is merely to support the diet. He also claims that consumers do not realise the benefits of genetically modified foods and that they will in time change their minds about them.
